Week 9 2nd Transfer in Missionary Paradise!
Jan. 5, 2015
Hello ALL! I love and miss you! I hope everyone had a good New Years!
Well this week was good... and bad... and awesome :) I have had to learn a whole lot in ways I didn't want to... but I did... and things have gotten so much easier.
| Sister Eschenbrenner and me in the car. We are trying to take more pictures...and we spend most of our time in the car!! |
We were super busy this week. We had so many appointments fall through but we were able to do A LOT of service which is good. For sisters it is really hard to get people to let us serve them. I don't know why, but that's how it is everywhere as far as I know. We helped a sister move into our ward, and helped clean, and set up a phone, AND... changed the batteries in a smoke detector... lol.
This week we spent a lot of time with members. We tried to stay for only an hour tops, but they needed more time than that which was frustrating but it was a good use of our time. We would have liked to spend that time with investigators but Heavenly Father knows what he's doing - and I trust Him so I can't worry too much about it.

WE FINALLY SAW "J"!!!!! He dropped off the face of the earth for a week or two after a member (who was his friend/knew him) was super hard on him about smoking, and then he stopped answering us. We went to his house and saw him and asked him if he still wanted to see us/take the lessons and he is still very excited to get baptized! And he should be at church next Sunday!
We had so many people who were planning on coming to church but they ALL, all 7 of them, didn't show up... super silly... oh well there's always next week... and some of them had legit excuses.
I can't believe it's already 2015 and my 2nd transfer! It went by SOOO FAST! How does this happen? Everyday feels like a week but then every week feels like a day. I normally get to Sunday and wonder where the week went because we were just at church yesterday... lol Missionary time!
We are now a training area - all three companionships are now training. Elder Hess is now a Zone Leader (ZL) and in a different area. Our new District Leader (DL) is.... drum roll please... ELDER DICKERT! He did NOT want to be a DL, which was totally funny when we found out because we totally saw this coming. Elder Peterson (007) is now training too! His companion is super solid and is super chill. His name is Elder... well I can't remember so I'll have to let you know next week. So Elder Dickert is having me do a 15-minute training by myself! AAHHHH!! It'll be a first and hopefully it won't be to bad.
I have seen SO MANY MIRACLES!!!!!!! It is just crazy - and it's crazy how blind people are to the miracles because they choose NOT to see God's hand in EVERYTHING!!!!! Hint... God's hand IS in EVERYTHING!!!! You just have to look and see.
We had to go to a viewing on New Year's day. That was not fun at all. So many memories that I don't want to drown in... it was soooo hard to not focus on that and to focus on Christ. But afterward we were able to have a meeting with "B", the Relief Society President, who is also a returned missionary (RM). We had a very good conversation with her and she helped uplift us and we helped uplift her.
I love y'all so much!

Scripture:
So as a mission we were asked to read the Book of Mormon before General Conference in April, I am going to extend that invitation to you, We did the math and it's 6 pages a day starting TODAY!
I finished the Book of Mormon... finally. I didn't make my goal of reading it in 15 days but... I made it in 4 months... hahaha
I LOVE! the chapters at the end of Moroni... I think they are some of my favorite, especially the letters between Moroni and his father, Mormon, in chapters 7-9. They are so jam packed with the Gospel of Christ and puts things simply and plainly. Specifically read Moroni 7:13,16-17
And if you have time, Nephi Chapter 4:5-38 and look for the miracles and how the Spirit blessed Nephi.
