:) This week has been a very good week :)
I have been able to do and see so much! it has been great...
So to start off.... we haven't moved yet... we probably aren't going to move until transfers (if at all)... and I think I failed to explain some minor details. We might be moved into a different city in the ward boundaries (we have a HUGE ward boundary... and it covers a good 20 cities and towns)... soooo it is not that anything bad happened... it's just that it's time for a change, BUT! we will still be in the same ward, just a different town :)
I think I'll share a funny spiritual experience... weird combo I know :) So Sunday we went to go and meet with R and we had to work really hard to share with her and have her understand. We asked her about what answers she had gotten to her prayers and she said that she got one answer. She got the answer that Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God... but she doesn't believe that this is the true church yet... or that she needs to be baptized by someone who holds God's priesthood... we are still working on that :) so at the end of our appointment with her, we asked her to give the prayer.
****IMPORTANT SIDE NOTE!**** when we pray with her we hold hands around the table and one of us prays, and she says "amen" and "thank you Lord" to things that she agrees with and its kinda different than the way that we pray... ***ok back to story*** So she says the prayer and we all say amen and sit there for a second... longer than usual and then she starts praying AGAIN!!!! She continues to do this about 8 times! and then she asks us if we want to say a prayer. We brought Amy (a young woman in the ward) with us and she jumped on the opportunity and basically bore her testimony through her prayer and asked God to give R understanding. Then she closed and we said amen and R asked if anyone else wanted to pray. So Sister Eschenbrenner did and taught and testified of the truthfulness that we had taught her through her prayer and then we sat for a second and R asked again if anyone wanted to give a prayer, so I did, and I taught and testified and promised in the name of Christ that she would receive a witness that the Book of Mormon is true, and that she would know what God wants her to do with that knowledge... and then I closed... and we sat there for a little while and listened to the Spirit testify. It was amazing :)
Then we tried to track down Joe Sunday night... AND WE FOUND HIM! He kinda fell off the face of the earth! We had a really good conversation with him and he KNOWS that this is the true church of God and that he needs to be baptized and a part of this church! We cleared up some misunderstandings that he had and he was so happy and excited :) We texted him yesterday and asked if he had gotten our message (rescheduling an appointment) and he said "Yes and it felt like angels were dancing on my eardrums". (Sister E and I had a really good laugh, because he is actually REALLY shy and it surprised us.) Joe has a new baptism date... and he seems super excited about this date and we think he will be ready by then :)
We had Zone Conference this week! *Zone Conference (for those that don't know) is when missionaries from one or two Zones (a Zone is made up of several Districts) come together and are taught by the Mission President, his wife, the assistants to the president (or for short AP and they are missionaries that the president calls to help him), the Zone Leaders and the Sister Training leaders.* EVERYTHING TAUGHT WAS AMAZING! It was so uplifting and refreshing. We have a new goal for this years' baptisms, it is 453. There was an experience that was share as to how they got this number. Mission President drew on the chalkboard 300 and then 500 on top of each other but left space in between and took his chalk and told them to stop him when they thought they were close to the number they should choose. He got half way up and several people said to stop. They were at about 450 and then an Elder said, "This might be crazy but in Alma 45:3 it says 'And Helaman said unto him: Yea, I believe'" so we got the number 453, THE CHURCH IS SO TRUE! :) so we have a motto and a goal. Yea, I believe!
I have learned so much... it has been such a blessing :) We are coming to the end of the transfer, Feb 11th and it makes me sad to think that I won't be Sister E's companion anymore... but I am very excited to meet who I will be working with next :) and I am treasuring my time with her and learning all that I can :)
I have a binder that I got to fill with letters and notes from everyone :) and I am going to try to make sure that I reply as best as I can to all of them! I LOVE ALL OF YOU! you are all so amazing and I am blessed to have you as part of my life and to share this time in my life with you! THANK YOU!
LOVE LOTZ!
